Day 60 – The Creeper

But it wasn’t just the Rainbow Creeper who had appeared. He was surrounded by six destroyer endermen. It was the first time I’d seen him materialize with destroyers in many days. The six destroyer endermen quickly took up defensive positions around the Creeper, encircling him with their protective dominance.

The head monk approached the Rainbow Creeper, remained at a respectful distance, and then genuflected. “Thank the creation stone! You have come, My Lord.”

“Yes, head monk. I would have appeared sooner, but I sensed the presence of the Noble Dark One. I thought it best if we were not in the room together.”

“Why not? What aren’t you telling us?” demanded Otis, shaking a fist at the Rainbow Creeper.

One of the destroyer endermen growled and began approaching Otis but the Rainbow Creeper said, “It’s okay, Micah. He’s like that all the time.”

“Sad,” said Micah as he returned to his defensive position.

“Well?” said Otis.

“It’s nothing personal. It’s just that, as I think he told you, he works on the side of evil while I work the side of good. It is best that we keep our distance from each other so as not to risk blending the two and confusing what is good with what is evil.”

Makes sense, I guess.

“Rainbow Creeper, why is that you have appeared now and with such a powerful personal guard?” asked the Ender King.

“I understand you are building a soul harvesting machine. It is clear why, and it makes sense. But I implore you to destroy it once the purpose for which it was constructed is completed. You do not want it to fall into the wrong hands,” he said.

At that moment Herobrine and John appeared in the room. “Did someone say the wrong hands?” joked Herobrine. “They’re here!” Then, he laughed.

Two of the destroyer endermen teleported next to Herobrine and quickly wrapped his wrists with rainbow-colored rope, disabling his powers. Herobrine looked around with a confused expression. “What’s the big idea?”

“Scan them,” demanded the Ender King.

I reached out with my vibe sensor to Herobrine and felt anger, hatred, and loneliness, but nothing that would make me believe he was controlled by Lamashtu. “He’s clean,” I said. “Err, maybe I should say, he is not our enemy at this moment.” Then I scanned John. His vibes were more cynical, like he was looking for something, but nothing evil. “John’s clean too.”

One of the destroyers looked at the Rainbow Creeper and asked, “Shall we kill Herobrine?”

The Rainbow Creeper shook its head. “No. He’s just a joker and a prankster. Before he drank the sanity potion, I might have ordered his death. But now, he sees the world for what it is. He is not a danger to begin harvesting souls himself.”

Herobrine, still looking confused, said, “Of course not. I would never harvest souls. I might kill some folk, but I don’t need their souls.”

“Preach it, H-man,” said John.

“Untie him,” ordered the Rainbow Creeper. The destroyers did as they were asked and then teleported back to defensive positions.
